Day 12 - A Fort Is Vastly Overrated

I spent an inordinate amount of time building these kids a fort/tent/whatever...

For whatever reason, as a kid, I loved forts and I was terrified of our car running out of gas. Those were two of my things. Only one applies here but yeah...anyways, needless to say, I was really into the fort construction.

In an effort to really knock it out of the park I'm trying to use what little bit of geometry I ever learned in addition to a blend of logic and "Man I hope this cushion doesn't fall" so, all in all, it was a questionable process...

One minute, I'm wedging cushions into gaps in the couches and trying to manipulate these foam tubes into the shape I'm going for (a tower) and the next minute I'm trying to drape a blanket over the top ever so gently.

I was well on my way to becoming the Frank Lloyd Wright of fort building...the future was bright...

Naturally, once I completed my masterpiece of a fort - using both the couch cushions and the fort building set - the kids decide to just bring it down...without a hint of remorse.

Laughter fills the room.

If my look could kill, I would not be welcome to any more family get togethers...
